What this calculator does
An accumulator, also called an acca, parlay or multiple, links several selections into one bet. The odds multiply, so a small stake can return a lot. But every leg has to win. One late equaliser on any of the matches and the whole bet is lost.
Add as many legs as you like, enter the price of each, and the calculator shows the combined odds, the return and the profit. It also does each-way accumulators, where a separate “place” accumulator runs alongside the win part. That’s useful for outright and top-scorer markets.
Step by step
1
Odds format
Decimal or fractional.
2
Add your legs
Give each one a name if you like (e.g. “Arsenal win”) and enter its odds. You start with two. Use “Add Selection” for more.
3
Stake
What you’d put on the whole accumulator.
4
OptionalEach-way
Switch it on and set the place terms (1/4 or 1/5) and number of places.

The maths behind it
Combined Odds = Odds1 x Odds2 x … x Oddsn
Return = Stake x Combined Odds
Profit = Return – Stake
For each-way, the place part:
Place Odds per leg = (Decimal Odds – 1) x Fraction + 1
Place Accumulator Odds = PlaceOdds1 x … x PlaceOddsn
Each-Way Outlay = Stake x 2
Fractional prices are converted to decimal before they are multiplied.
Worked examples
1
A Saturday treble
BeginnerThree home wins at 1.55, 1.90 and 2.05, with $10 on the treble. Combined odds = 1.55 x 1.90 x 2.05 = 6.04.
Return = $60.37 | Profit = $50.37
2
Four BTTS legs
IntermediateBoth teams to score in four matches, each at 1.75, with $5 staked. Combined odds = 9.38, so $46.89 back. Now suppose each leg really has a 55% chance. All four landing is only 0.55 x 0.55 x 0.55 x 0.55, about 9.2%. A fair price for that would be 10.9.
The bookmaker’s margin repeats on every leg, so the combined price falls further below fair the more legs you add
3
Each-way top-scorer double
AdvancedTwo strikers to top-score in their leagues, at 9.00 and 11.00, each-way at 1/4 odds. $5 each-way costs $10. Place odds are 3.00 and 3.50, so the place double is 10.50.
Both top-score: $495 + $52.50 | Both only place: $52.50
Questions people ask
QHow many legs can I add?
As many as you want. Keep in mind that each extra leg makes the bet much less likely to win.
QWhat if one match is postponed?
Most bookmakers treat a void leg as a non-runner. The accumulator carries on at odds of 1.00 for that leg, so a treble becomes a double. Check your bookmaker’s rules, because they differ.
QHow does an each-way acca pay out?
It’s two accumulators. If every leg wins, both the win and place accumulators pay. If every leg places but at least one doesn’t win, only the place accumulator pays. If any leg misses the places, both lose.
QAre accumulators a good bet?
They’re fun and can pay big, but on average they’re worse value than single bets, because the bookmaker’s margin is multiplied on every leg. Treat them as entertainment and keep stakes small.
